Echoes from the Summit: Lessons from Shiva

In the quiet shadows of the towering Himalayas,

A weary soul climbed, seeking the veils of truth to raise.

His heart burdened with the world’s ceaseless strife,

Pleaded to forsake it all for a hermit’s life.

He trekked through valleys deep and mountains stern,

Where the winds whispered secrets for those who yearn.

At the peak of his journey, under a solemn, starlit sky,

The seeker found Shiva, seated tranquil and high.

"O Lord of the cosmos, keeper of the eternal flame,"

He began, his voice a mix of reverence and a hidden shame.

"My life is a turmoil of duties, love, and endless toil,

Teach me your ways, for my blood now begins to boil.

In the clutter of relationships and the masquerade of career,

I find no peace, only a continual, engulfing fear.

Allow me to be your disciple, to leave behind this fray,

To meditate by your side, in these mountains stay."

Lord Shiva looked upon him with eyes, ancient and kind,

His voice echoed through the mountains, intertwined with the wind:

"O seeker of the truth, listen to the tales of the earth,

Life’s not about escaping duties that give it worth.

You speak of leaving, of discarding roles you've been given,

Yet, life’s essence is in the balance you’ve striven.

It's in each relationship’s twist and turn,

In every small failure, in each lesson you learn.

You yearn for sanyas as if it's the land of the divine,

But know that true sanyas begins in the heart and mind.

First, master the chaos that daily life brews,

Be a king of kindness, pay your worldly dues.

Handle your tasks, like I manage the universe,

Embrace your duties, though they make you curse.

Expertise in life’s trials, my child, is your true quest,

Only then consider retreating to my tranquil crest."

The seeker stood silent, Shiva’s words stirring a deep change,

He saw not a life to escape, but priorities to rearrange.

"Thank you, O Mahadev, for your wisdom and light,

I return to my world, to live right and fight."

From the peaks of the Himalayas, back to the vibrant lands,

The seeker now walked with a clearer mind and steadier hands.

Each step was firm, each action with purpose renewed,

For in his heart, the words of Shiva eternally brewed.

Thus, in the dance of life and its myriad plays,

He found the divine in the simplest days.

And promised to return, once he’d honored each role,

To the sacred mountains that had spoken to his soul.
